" You should become thinner, so you get to wear more clothes and fit into more." A statement I first heard about 4 years ago, sounded absurd, but knew to be true. After all, as most fashion houses and designers sketch highly stylized and exaggerated mannequin sketches as well as drape on probably size 2 mannequins and present on size 2 models, the statement turns out to be true.
Besides with the splash of images through media, the ideal public aesthetic globally has shifted to waifs. Health is of utmost importance, feels good, looks good. But when, the wearer has to mould to a design and mostly not the other way around, there seems something wrong!

Jay Leno had a model on his show last night, a full figured model who's advert for Lane Bryant was banned temporarily from a network because it was "too fleshy". After looking at the ad and also comparing to Victorias Secret ads where the models are close to starvation skinny, it was rather modest. The only real difference was the size of the model. It appears that the network was lothe to show any cleavage or midriff or thigh of a woman who was not skinny. They are showing it now though and I'm guessing they want to avoid a lawsuit. What a bunch of perverted prigs.
